Convention and General Meeting of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network 2011 Report

Creative Design City Nagoya attended the UNESCO Creative Cities Network meeting on Nov 16-17, 2011 and 24 out of 29 of the appointed UNESCO creative cities. (Data as of November 2011). Concurrently held was the Mayor’s Roundtable Meeting of the Network where the mayors, deputy mayors, and decision makers from the member cities, including the Mayor of Seoul, Par Won-soon, gathered to make presentations and discuss cultural policy under the theme, “Creative Administration”. Public presentations were also made by representatives of cities that had applied for inclusion. During a separate session meeting, Yukinari Tsuboya, chairperson of the Creative Design City of Nagoya Organizing Committee, made a presentation concerning Nagoya’s involvement in cultural policy and industry, with the theme of “A Proposal for Intercity Industrial Cooperation and A Case Study of the Same”.
