Graz and Nagoya Collabo Project
Granag Project

The City of Graz, with a population of 250,000 is the second largest city in Austria, and like Nagoya is an accredited member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the design category.
Every May, Graz hosts Designmonat Graz [Graz Design Month]. Among the nearly 60 events held around the city in 2012 was an exhibit presenting another UNESCO design city: Buenos Aires. Showing considerable interest in Nagoya’s activity as well, Graz has offered to mount a Nagoya exhibit in 2013.
Based on this proposal, it has been determined that a project by students at FH JOANNEUM University of Applied Science, to be launched during the opening session of Designmonat Graz, will also highlight Nagoya. For that reason, the Graz students will visit Nagoya in March 2013 to explore its charms and learned about its history, culture and landscape.
The GRANAG Project comprises the cooperation of students from five Nagoya universities* in the FH students’ research, helping to identify a perspective portraying the creative design city of Nagoya for the May exhibition.
