DMY International Design Festival Berlin 2012 Report

Once again, Creative Design City Nagoya was invited to participate in the annual design event held in another UNESCO City of Design, DMY International Design Festival Berlin. CDCN presented innovative design products from the Nagoya region alongside exhibits showcasing the work of designers, design studios, design organizations, young creators and educational institutions in the design field from all over the world on a 20,000 m2 venue.

We were met with reception so positive and such great feedback that we were busy from morning to late in the evening every day of the event waiting on the many visitors to our booth and meeting with participants from other design cities and organizations. Yusuke Ito, president of DMY exhibitor and polyester decorative plywood manufacturer ICHIRO Inc., shared his experiences at his booth on Facebook, noting that people noticing his koloro-desk and koloro-stool repeatedly exclaimed, “how cute!” and “cool!” These two products were even to be displayed at a certain Berlin shop following the DMY festival. We look forward to its future product development in Germany. Other exhibitors’ products were also recognized for abundant innovation, humor and technological assets.
