Seoul Design Fair 2010 – Design for All Report

Our delegate attended the opening ceremony of Seoul Design Fair 2010, an integrated design event whose primary venue was The Seoul Olympic Stadium. Nagoya and other cities of the UNESCO Creative Cities worked together to have their exhibits shown in the pavilion of the City of Seoul, which is the 2010 World Design Capital*. The exhibit included video presentations of the activities of the Network cities.

* ICSID (International Council of Societies of Industrial Design) and Icograda (International Council of Graphic Design Association) biennially designate a “World Design Capital,” a city that has put great emphasis on design so as to encourage social, economic and cultural development. In the designated city, a variety of design events are held throughout the year. Turin was the design capital in 2008, Seoul in 2010. The 2012 capital will be Helsinki.
